How To Have a Spooktacular Movie Marathon This Halloween

by Jennah Owda

Partying may not be your cup of beetle juice, but that shouldn’t exclude you from having a spooktacular Halloween! So instead of going out this Halloween, plan a Halloween-themed movie marathon with some of your closest friends!

Costumes

Just because you aren’t going out to a large gathering doesn't mean you can't dress up as your favorite character for this Halloween. Before the movie marathon begins, get into the spooky spirit, do your hair, apply your makeup, and host a costume contest with your friends. Whoever wins the contest can pick the first movie to watch off the thrilling list!

Tricks or Treats

During the marathon, you and your friends are bound to get hungry, and what's a better way to fill your hungry stomachs other than with Halloween-themed treats! Have each friend bring a Halloween-inspired treat to enjoy together. Some ideas are mummy cookies, cinnamon roll intestines, and pretzel witch fingers!

Ambiance

Along with costumes and themed treats, a thrilling aura must be set. This means decorating the room with Halloween string lights, pillows, weighted blankets, and some fall-scented candles! This will create an aesthetically pleasing and comfortable movie marathon that you and your friends will remember forever!

Movies

Finally, the most important aspect of the night is creating a list of the best Halloween movies! To create the perfect list, you will want to include classics, thrillers, and some paranormal films. Some of my favorite classic Halloween movies are “Edward Scissorhands,” directed by Tim Burton, “Hocus Pocus,” directed by Kenny Ortega, and “Monster House,” directed by Gil Kenan. As for thrillers, “Hush” directed by Mike Flanagan and “Parasite” directed by Bong Joon-ho, will have you on the edge of your seat. If you are more into paranormal activity, any of the “Conjuring” films will have you spooked for days!
